The entire team at Sur-Lie is humbled that we have received two nominations by the James Beard House, one of the biggest honors for a restaurant!

Sur Lie is a semi-finalist for Outstanding Hospitality and Krista Cole, sole owner, has her own nomination for Outstanding Restaurateur for both her restaurants Sur Lie and Gather!

There’s something special about Sur Lie that sets us apart. It’s the values we have and the values we all share as a team. To us it’s about buying local. It’s about giving back to our community. Sur Lie is a tapas style restaurant in downtown Portland, Maine. Our cuisine is American contemporary…an eclectic mix of influences from all over the world. Sur Lie uses the tapas trend as a way to bring people together and create a very unique dining experience. The food focus is on the amazing and beautiful bounty of locally sourced ingredients that Maine has to offer.
